I am using aironet 1252, having 2.4 GHz antena and getting the bandwidth of 54 mbps; though i have the link of 1Gbps.
Now, I want the best out put (atleast 600mbps) from my existing 1252; can any body please guide me how can I do this.
Also please suggest me do I need to change the antena or the switches for this purpose?
thanks
Arup
Although 802.11n standard claims to provide up to 600 Mbps bandwidth, actually getting this throughput may be challenging. You will need an appropriate network adapter, proximity to the access point, clear radio channels and no other clients on the wireless network.
Only site survey and testing will show how close can you get to the 600 Mpbs.
Of course you will need to make sure that you have higher than 100Mpbs ports on every switch and router the traffic passes.
If you’re interested in configuration guide you may take a look at the Cisco IOS Software Configuration Guide for Cisco Aironet Access Points comprehensive document available from Cisco.

The Cisco Aironet 1252 is the first enterprise class access point to support the IEEE 802.11n draft 2.0 standard. 802.11n offers combined data rates of up to 600 Mbps to provide users with mobile access to high-bandwidth data, voice, and video applications regardless of their location. Through the use of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology, 1252 also provides reliable and predictable WLAN coverage to improve the end-user experience for both existing 802.11a/b/g clients and new 802.11n clients. |
