The SEC license gives you some of the features of the bigger ASA’s; more simultaneous connections, more VPN connections, trunks, and stateless Active/Standby (stateless = not the good type of failover).

Can I plug my T3 directly into the ASA unit?

Basically a T3 (also called DS3) line comes with a BNC connector and can not be plugged directly into the ASA.
The service provider may provide an equipment to convert the BNC to the RJ-45 that will allow you to connect it to the ASA.

Yes, but none of the ASA’s will directly take a serial link (which is the native handoff for a T3). If you can get your T3 delivered over Ethernet, then yes, it’ll take it.
