Q

Are these phones compatible with my existing ALLWORX 24X system ?

The phones I have now are ALLWORX 9212.

Posted on 02/08/2011 at 06:32PM by user_2549
A

I’m not familiar with the ALLWORKS 24X system nor the setup that you’re currently using. But a short research shows that it supports SIP protocol, that the Cisco 7940 IP phone supports as well. So generally speaking it is compatible. It may require additional configuration to bring it into production though.

Q

I am a novice. Do I need an AC Adapter for this phone to work?

Posted on 09/15/2010 at 10:41AM by Anonymous
A

Basically you have two options to supply power to most of the Cisco phones, specifically CP-7940
Connecting it to a PoE switch or PoE injector. This option supplies power over the Ethernet cable and will need supporting network hardware.
The second option is to use an AC adapter.

Q

About this model

How many Ethernet interfaces on a unit?

Interface speeds? (Eth, Gigabit)

Would you reduce the price if I bought in bulk (over 20)?

Free shipping?

Posted on 09/14/2010 at 09:48AM by Anonymous
A

The CP-7940 phone has 2 10/100 Mbps interfaces that act as a switch. One of them usually connects to a switch and one to the PC. This allows using only one connection for the phone and a PC.
