The phones I have now are ALLWORX 9212.
I’m not familiar with the ALLWORKS 24X system nor the setup that you’re currently using. But a short research shows that it supports SIP protocol, that the Cisco 7940 IP phone supports as well. So generally speaking it is compatible. It may require additional configuration to bring it into production though.
The 7940 IP phone supports SIP protocol that is used by most VoIP providers. Please specify which provider you do you intend to use or contact the provider to find if they use SIP protocol or require additional equipment/software.
Basically you have two options to supply power to most of the Cisco phones, specifically CP-7940
Connecting it to a PoE switch or PoE injector. This option supplies power over the Ethernet cable and will need supporting network hardware.
The second option is to use an AC adapter.
How many Ethernet interfaces on a unit?
Interface speeds? (Eth, Gigabit)
