The PIX 515-R (restricted) is the entry-level Cisco solution for those organizations looking to deploy high-performancesecurity with basic firewall functionality. It provides enough power for over 50,000 concurrent connections and up to 170Mbps of throughput. The PIX 515R, with its two Ethernet interfaces, is an especially cost-effective solution for many smaller companies that choose to host their Web site on the outside of their firewall, or through an Internet service provider (ISP), and yet have a need for an inexpensive price/performance firewall solution. It is also ideal for remote sites that require onlytwo-way communication with their corporate network, and situations in which the corporate network provides all Webservices on its enterprise firewall.
