To access the firewall, using the included rollover cable, connect the RJ-45 end to the console port of the firewall and the other to the DB-9 serial port on a PC. Open HyperTerminal on your PC or another terminal emulator program (putty, for instance). Adjust the settings to reflect the following after choosing the correct COM port:

Bits per sec : 9600
Data bits : 8
Parity : none
Stop bits : 1
Flow control : none

Once these characteristics are set, start a new session and you’ll be able to access the firewall once it’s powered on. Upon completion of booting, you’ll be prompted to pre-configure the router with assistance or you can enter yourself using the command line interface with appropriate commands.
