The Catalyst 5000 ATM LANE dual PHY OC-3 Module provide two physical ports on each module only one port is operational at a given time. The other port, if connected, is in standby mode and becomes active if the primary port link fails. It provides one direct connection and one standby connection between the ATM network and the switch using two single-mode (SC) fiber-optic connectors.
